Directions

From Atlanta: Take I-85 N.  Fork left where I-85 & I-985 split to get on I-985. Take Exit #24 "Gainesville Cleveland" Hwy. 129 (3rd Gainesville exit). Take exit ramp to light & turn left. Go 2 more lights to Limestone Rd. & turn right.   Limestone Rd. deadends at Hwy. 129, where you will turn right heading north toward Cleveland. Go 20 miles to old brick courthouse on square in Cleveland. Drive around courthouse & exit back side of courthouse to stay on Hwy.129 north. Drive approx. 3 miles (past the high school on the rt.). Turn right on Alt.75 towards Helen, GA. . Drive approx. 6 miles to Richard Russell Scenic Hwy. (Hwy. 348) & turn left.  Drive approx. 13 miles through the National Forest.  (After driving approx. 12 miles you will see a mail box on the left, then a blue road sign for Kings Mtn. Rd., then a gravel driveway.)   The NEXT road is Hatchet Creek Rd., where you will turn left. Drive 3/10 of a mi. & turn left on Papa's Mtn. Rd. Sign on mailbox says "Hatchet Creek Cabins". Drive up the road to the end, which is where our office is located, in a large red barn.  (NOTE: THESE DIRECTIONS ARE TO BE USED DURING WARM WEATHER, WHEN THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY OF ICE & SNOW.)

DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER:  Follow directions above to the courthouse square in Cleveland. Go around the backside of courthouse & continue north on 129. STAY ON 129 NORTH towards Blairsville.  You will cross over the mountains & pass Blood Mountain Cabins, Walasi-Y on the rt. and Sunrise Grocery (country store) on the left. Approx. 1/2 mile past Sunrise Grocery, turn rt. on Hwy.180 East.  Drive 1 mile to Richard Russell Scenic Hwy. 348 & turn right. Drive approx. 3 miles to Hatchet Creek Rd. & turn  rt. Drive 3/10 mile to Hatchet Creek Cabins on left.
